PushMessenger protocol is well equipped with advanced ACL (Access Control List)* permissions, ensuring maximum privacy control for its users.
An ACL specifies which users or system processes are granted access to objects, as well as what operations are allowed on given objects. When a subject requests an operation on an object in an ACL-based security model, the operating system first checks the ACL for an applicable entry to decide whether the requested operation is authorized.
A key issue in the definition of any ACL-based is determining how access control lists are edited, namely which users and processes are granted ACL-modification access. ACL models may be applied within the system's hierarchy.
The following ACL permissions are implemented:
Users have the distinct option to permit / ban specific contacts from viewing their availability status. If the wish they can easily overdraw this rule and broadcast their status to all their contacts for certain occasions (e.g. announcements or anniversaries).
Easily turn location sharing on / off for specific or all contacts. Location data are sensitive but protected utilizing clear visualizations that inform the user when location sharing is activated & confirm deactivation.
Namelessness is still allowed on the web. Users can select not to publish their profile picture to selected or all users. Occasionally they can select to be visible to anybody.
Instead of completely block an annoying contact, users can select to temporary prevent to receive messages from this individual.
Although exchanging messages with one or two contacts is requiring a small amount of time, attending online meetings needs much greater effort. When too busy for a conference, users can select to not receive any related invitations, again from specific or all users.
